Our Story
We're the Schellenbergs, a family of five from Franklin, Tennessee. When we set out to build Willowmere, we had a simple vision: create a peaceful, thoughtfully designed home on the water where families could slow down, unplug, and make real memories together.
Smith Lake stole our hearts the first time we visited. The water is impossibly clear, the pace is unhurried, and the surrounding hills feel a world away from the everyday. We knew right away this was the place.
Why We Built Willowmere
We designed every detail of this home with our guests in mind. From the open living spaces that bring everyone together, to the covered porch where you can watch the sun set over the lake, to the dock where mornings start quiet and evenings end even quieter — we wanted it all to feel effortless. A place where you could walk in, exhale, and feel at home.
We believe a great lake house isn't just about the views (though those don't hurt). It's about the little things: comfortable beds after a long day on the water, a well-stocked kitchen for family dinners, and enough space for everyone to spread out or come together.
A note to our guests: Thank you for choosing Willowmere. We built this place for moments just like the ones you're about to make — lazy mornings on the dock, cookouts on the deck, kids jumping off the swim platform, and starry nights you won't find back in town.
